The C3 Refurbishing process
Transfer of
Ownership:
Cincinnati Computer Cooperative assumes all responsibility for your equipment
and will provide you with the necessary documentation for your records.
YOU
MUST FILL IN THE TRANSFER OF OWNERSHIP FORM ABOVE WITH A COMPLETE LIST OF
DONATED EQUIPMENT.
Technical Evaluation:
Every CPU is fully inspected by a
technician to determine its specifications, for example; CPU type, amount of
memory, and hard drive size. If the technician concludes that there is a bad,
missing, or damaged component; it can be repaired at that time.
Data Erasure: C3 recommends that your company erase
the data in compliance with regulations such as HIPPA, the Gramm-Leach-Bliley
Act, NAVSO P-5239-26, and NISPOM (DOD) 5220-22-M.
Please take time to
look over "Ten tips for donating a computer" (above) for helpful
information about erasure. After
receiving your equipment, C3 will wipe all working hard drives 10 Gh or larger,
with a 3 pass Department of Defense compliant erasing program. All smaller or
non-functioning hard drives will be removed, and physically destroyed with
our EDR. SOLUTIONS Hard Drive
Crusher.
Component Breakdown: All CPU’s that are not economically
repairable are stripped for parts content. The parts are then used to repair
other non-working units. Any component that cannot be salvaged is sent to a
ISO 9001 compliant recycling center
.
Refurbishing/Asset
Tag Removal:
Our experienced staff cleans all CPU’s inside and out. Before the computer
leaves the Ghosting stations all asset tags are removed.
Imaging
the OS: Each C3 computer is imaged with a
Windows 98 or 2000 operating system. Our state of the art process can image 32
at one time which makes C3 one of the leaders in this field!
